Alpcraft Minetest Bavaria

In recent years, Bayerischer Rundfunk has realised historical knowledge projects such as ‘München 72’, ‘Ich, Eisner!’ and ‘Die Befreiung’.

In the latest project ‘Alpcraft’, the BR Next team wants to immerse itself in the worlds of Minecraft and Minetest in order to bring the culture, nature and myths of 19th century Alpine Bavaria to life.

In this workshop, we will build an alpine natural and cultural landscape together on Minetest with peaks and valleys, forests and lakes, lonely alpine huts, winding mountain villages, a castle ruin and much more. We'll give you challenges and over the course of the day we'll create a shared world for free exploration.

And of course, the BR Next team will also answer all your questions about digital innovation projects and digital knowledge transfer or, more specifically, about the research behind ‘Alpcraft’.
